Common questions

Do I have to set up all three payment methods?+
No — you choose what to set up. Most tradespeople use Capitec Pay Me and Bank EFT, which are free and take 2 minutes. SnapScan is optional and requires a free SnapScan merchant account. Only the methods you configure appear on your quotes.
Does SwiftQuote AI take a cut of my payments?+
No. Zero. SwiftQuote AI charges no transaction fees. Capitec Pay Me and EFT are completely free. Your only payment-related cost would be SnapScan's processing rate if you use it — which you'd pay regardless.
What is a Capitec display name?+
When a customer opens your quote, the Capitec Pay Me section shows your display name (e.g. "John's Plumbing") next to your cell number — so they know exactly who they're paying. You set this once in Settings or during onboarding.
Can I add or change my payment methods later?+
Yes. Go to Settings → Payment methods at any time. Changes take effect immediately — your next quote will show the updated methods. Existing quote links also update automatically.
Can I request a deposit vs the full amount?+
The payment section shows the full invoice amount and reference. For deposits, specify the deposit amount clearly on your quote line items — the payment section will reflect that total.
Which plans include payments?+
All plans — including Starter at R299/month. Payment follow-up reminders and automated detection will also be available on all plans when they ship.
