We scrape publicly available pricing data from supplier websites and product catalogues — things like online price lists, category pages, and publicly accessible trade portals. This data is then curated, normalised, and stored in our pricing database.
Prices are not pulled live from supplier systems. There is no API integration or supplier agreement in place. We collect publicly visible prices and update them periodically as part of our maintenance process.
When you generate an AI quote, Swift Quote AI matches line items (e.g. "200L geyser", "15mm copper pipe") to products in our pricing database using keyword matching. Each matched product has a base price (ex VAT) plus a province multiplier — because materials genuinely cost more to deliver to Limpopo than Gauteng.
Your preferred supplier is set in your account settings and prices from that supplier take priority. If no match is found, the AI uses its own estimate based on current market rates.
Province adjustments: Western Cape +8%, KwaZulu-Natal +5%, Eastern Cape +10%, Mpumalanga +7%, Limpopo +12%, North West +8%, Free State +6%, Northern Cape +15%, Gauteng = baseline.
